ABOUT DFW EAGLE FEATHER
DFW Eagle Feather Dad-Teen Program is Sponsored by DFW Bear Creek Federation Indian Guides and Princesses.
The DFW Bear Creek Federation Indian Princess / Guides Program, with activities aligned to the interests and abilities of teens (6th grade and above) and their Dads (or the father figures in their lives).
The Eagle Feather | Dad-Teen Program originated out the Indian Princesses & Indian Guides programs (daughters & sons K – 5th Grade) sponsored by the DFW Bear Creek Federation. The Indian Guide & Princess Nations, associated with the Bear Creek federation, include: the Tatanka Nation (in McKinney, Texas), Caddo Nation (in Allen, TX) , Wichita Nation (in Northeast Tarrant County) and Yo-He-Wah Nation (in Northeast Tarrant County, Texas). All these nations, and the Eagle Feather | Dad-Teen Program, originally were aligned with the YMCA Indian Guide & Princess program many years long ago. However, due to honest differences in opinion regarding these programs, the DFW Bear Creek Federation, and associated nations, separated from the YMCA program when it evolved into the Adventure Guide Program.
If you are a DAD (or father figure) to teens in the DFW area, and you want to intentionally spend quality time with your teen, then we are the organization for you!
We meet monthly from September – May and very do activities that are fun, exciting, safe, and that provide opportunities for Dads and Teens to be together away from the normal stresses of life.
